Matt Walters Interview, Last Night Never Happened App and Photoblogging

This week on Diff'rent Strokes...

MUSIC:

We chat with upcoming indie pop sensation Matt Walters about his forthcoming LP Farewell Youth, growing pains, and treat ya'll to a live acoustic performance of his new single 'Conversation'.

Farewell Youth arrives in stores on 6 May - we're going right ahead to say it's an essential acoustic pop album for all fans of strummy la la realness.

ONLINE:

No more holding your heads in shame, bitches. There's now an app for the "morning after", designed to eradicate drunk tweets, pics and updates. Presenting: Last Night Never Happened! We won't say no names but one of our Diff'rent Strokes divas could do with this app.

CULTURE:

Dave talks about the photoblogging culture, how to get started and why sharing the beauty of the world around you has never been easier and more appealing. Check out four photoblogs we're currently trawling through:

Mardi Gras, Jessie J and We Farm App

This week on Diff'rent Strokes...

CULTURE:

Jade and Dave experienced their first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras together over the weekend. Tonight we'll hear their thoughts about the parade and atmosphere up in Oxford Street - and to celebrate our duo's first "holiday" together, here's a little video of them living it up at the Mardi Gras Parade, featuring Rin from Rophydoes!

Do the Limmy Shimmy, ladies. Do the Limmy Shimmy.

MUSIC:

Dave checks out British pop sensation Jessie J's debut album - Who You Are - and finds out why she's one to watch for in 2011. The 22-year old has written for the likes of Miley Cyrus, and opened shows for Girls Aloud and Macy Gray. Her current single 'Price Tag' has global hit written all over and it's already getting decent radio support in Australia.

ONLINE:

Jade is big on procrastinating with apps and so it's no surprise that she's bringing another one to our attention: We Farm. Is this the app store's answer to Farmville?

Emily Williams Interview, Chinese Stuff and Angry Birds App

This week on Diff'rent Strokes...

MUSIC:

The fabulous Emily Williams stops by and chats with us about her summer chic new single 'You're Mine', going solo and lessons learned from her Young Divas days. Download Emily's new single here on iTunes.

CULTURE:

Given that tomorrow is the 15th - and final - day of the Chinese New Year celebrations, Jade and Dave thought they'd check out several essentially Chinese stuff. Think: household items to staple foods, and the must-haves for the festive season.

ONLINE:

Jade checks out Angry Birds - a hugely popular and addictive gameplay app. The game has been downloaded over 50 million times across all platforms and have been described as "one of the great runaway hits of 2010". The best part of this Angry Birds movement is that it's crossing over to other media - think: TV appearances, YouTube parodies etc.

Bad Travellers, Adele and Smurfs' Village App

This week on Diff'rent Strokes...

CULTURE:

Jade returns from her American getaway to share with us her observations of bad travellers. Not to come down hard on folks who aren't accustomed to travelling or anything, it's more about etiquette and handy hints you should take while you're in a foreign land.

MUSIC:

Dave reviews Adele's defining new album: 21. The English soul siren's sophomore album debuted at #1 in the UK this week, and how's this for massive? After just three days on the shelves, the record had outsold the combined sales of all other albums in the Top 10. Bam!

ONLINE:

Jade finds a strange new obsession in the Smurfs' Village App. With the movie coming out this year - starring Katy Perry, who we all know Jade loves and adores* - it's safe to say that we're not alone in this resurgence of Smurfy interest.
*Sarcasm implied.
